For the Woman Who Wasn't Afraid to Wear Shortsby Louisa Howerow Submitted by Bobbi Lurie I am submitting "For the Woman Who Wasn't Afraid to Wear Shorts" by Louisa Howerow which can be found in "Cahoots Magazine" because there is a lightness and beauty to this poem which is very life affirming to me. The subtle rhyme scheme is brilliant I believe but even more, the subject itself, the writer speaking of the act of writing, of gifting another with ones' observation, of questioning if it is a gift at all opens me up to new thoughts about being a writer which I find very important. There is a rare humanity embedded within this poem. The observation and interest taken in another, the humor and gentle acceptance conveyed in this poem inspires me deeply. Louisa Howerow is a wonderful poet and I hope more people will read her work. It is a pleasure and a joy.
