INVENTORYby Dorothy Parker submitted by Mary Cresswell A roommate and I discovered Dorothy Parker fifty years ago, and I still read her with delight and compassion. She has a painfully acute awareness of what goes on the the lives of those of us who grew up with romance and still believe in love. She is brilliant at her craft, in poems and short stories both. Her black humor has always given me both pleasure and a sense of proportion---more times than I can possibly count. And it was very hard to choose just one poem; there are many many more, just as good. Read Inventory: plagiarist.com/poetry/1928/
