Dear Wom-pos,
Because I do some book reviewing, I'm occasionally invited on to our local NPR station, WILL, to do some book recommendations. I'm happy to say I was able to talk a little bit about the publication process of "Letters To The World," a discussion which is toward the end of the podcast. I'm trying to work in a little a poetry into the recs. We ran out of time but I had read some of the poems out loud to myself and had chosen Eloise Klein Healy's poem, "So The Teacher Jumped Up On The Desk," as a poem whose wonderful energy would translate well over the radio. Alas we ran out of time. I was able to read a poem by my former professor, Jon Anderson, in the beginning in my newly instituted "in memory" section of the program. This is a call in radio show and a listener called in with a recommendation for a poetry book, so I was pleased at how this experiment of dribbling in poetry went.
I'm sure there is a more efficient way to do this but I'm sending a link to the archives for the whole week in case anyone is interested. This podcast is on Friday at 10:00.

I would also be interested in hearing about other poetry/radio venues around the country. I'm trying to get something more regular going here in Illinois and I'm looking at successful templates. Right now the book rec. shows are irregular, during pledge time.
Best,
Gale Walden
