Kritya's director, Dr. Rati Saxena a Sahitya Akademi winner, is the
relentless spirit behind the venture. She is also the chief editor of
its successful bilingual web journal devoted to poetry and
translations. Supported by Surjit Pater, President Punjabi Sahitya
Akademi, a poet and critic and reputed poets on its advisory board,
Kritya 2008, will be an event to watch out for in November.
Kritya has grown in stature and its acknowledged international status
cannot be contested as Argo Spiers, its Western Consultant for
Kritya2008, aptly records, the dream of Doctor Saxena, her advisors
and the Trustees of Kritya to establish an expanding space for global
literature, art and culture to flourish through the tools of
translation, publication, performance, interaction and interchange of
literary ideas among various languages and cultures can be realized.
The 'child of Kritya that was born at Kritya2007' may indeed become a
much appreciated movement with a fixed international dimension.
Kritya's commitment to poetry is borne out through suggestions to
forge international collaborations from various Arts councils who have
recognized Kritya's efforts to propagate the arts regardless of all
barriers.
