3. The Poetry Box® is now seeking submissions of poetry for their 'In the News' issue of THE POEMING PIGEON, which will be released in August 2018.
Poetry is more popular than ever as writers are moved to raise their voices in reaction to the chaos found in today’s headlines. Whether it’s an unpopular president, climate change, record-breaking storms, gun-violence, sex-trafficking, religious wars, gay rights, human rights, the Black Lives Matter movement, or the latest celebrity gossip, there’s a multitude of news stories to enrage and inspire. This is your chance to have your voice and your viewpoint heard (read) on the pages of The Poeming Pigeon.
Submission Period: Dec 15, 2017 - Jan 31, 2018 (midnight, PST)
Details at: thepoetrybox.com/the-poeming-pigeon
Contact: shawn@thepoetrybox.com
We welcome work from both established and emerging writers alike. Every submission starts out in the same pile and is judged merely on its own merit, not the reputation of the writer. We enjoy poems of all styles: formal, free-verse, metered, non-rhyming, experimental, nostalgic, political, erotic, abstract, lyrical, etc. We don’t censor or shy away from ‘tough topics’, however we do draw the line at poetry that discriminates against our fellow humans.
Payment is a free contributor copy (print book).
