Wompo Publishers Newspaper
News this week from Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Plan B Press, Poet Lore, Finishing Line Press (back issues of the newspaper are archived at the Wompo festival of women's poetry here: wompherence.proboards.com ).

Kim Roberts reports that she had a tremendous book launch for her new anthology from Plan B Press, "Full Moon on K Street: Poems About Washington, DC," at the Folger Shakespeare Library last Monday. There was such great support from the DC literary community. About a third of the 101 contributors came--it was like a big reunion! The event was a celebration of two journals with anniversaries this year, Poet Lore (published by the Writers Center in Bethesda, MD, and the oldest continuously published journal in the US, now 120 years old), and Beltway Poetry Quarterly (10 years old), which Kim edits. Two poets read, Kyle Dargan and Kim Addonizio, followed by a moderated discussion with the three editors (Kim plus E. Ethelbert Miller and Jody Bolz), followed by a big reception, where the anthology was available to the public for the first time. The Beltway Poetry tenth anniversary is also getting covered by the press--due out this Wednesday, January 13 are stories in the Current Newspapers (there are three different papers, the Northwest Current, Dupont Current, and Georgetown Current, serving three different DC neighborhoods), as well as a big article in the Style section of the Washington Post.
