We're Planning FEST 2009
We need your input!!
Hit reply to tell us
1. what worked
and/or
2. what changes you'd like to see for next year.
We can't guarantee that we will be able to fulfill them all but we promise to seriously consider all suggestions : )

yes, and I'm specially interested to know if there's anything we can do to make it easier/more enticing for people to post their comments/messages/feedback onto the various threads? There's huge volumes of 'views' per thread but very little comment. Which is fine if people are happy to just read - but if there's any problems with posting, we'd like to try fix that so next year's Fest can be as interactive as you'd like it to be.
xx, moi

I love the little mini-classes--ie. Journals as Compost, etc.--and the papers are really fun to read. I was surprised that there were not more comments on them.

I enjoyed everything that I read/heard at the Fest, but it may require months to take full advantage of the entire Festival. There is so much!
Perhaps next year, a listing of poetry readings by Wompos available at youtube would be a wonderful (and easy enough?) addition. I'd volunteer to compile a list though my computer skills are basic at best.
I just have 3 more words: THANK YOU ALL!

We have quite a few video links in the Out Loud section, not all marked as video but if you click on the names e.g. Alicia Ostriker, you'll find quite the list. all the best Louisa

Also, if you browse the Bookstore pages, you will find links to authors' audio and video sites.
Best, Shayla

Hey, Malaika,
I think that's a great idea. I guess I assumed if anyone had one they would have sent the link to the Outloud section, though we didn't specifically mention it. At the very least we should encourage Wompos who can to do readings for youTube. I think we could even start a Wompo group on youTube so that all of them show up on the same page.

I love this idea Beverly. It would be wonderful to experience a video library of Wompo readings.
Thanks for the info Shayla and Louisa about where to find more audio/video. I could get lost here.

My first online conference - and I have enjoyed it immensely. The range of offerings has been impressive. As well, I appreciate the fact that the whole conference hasn't clustered at the high end of the technology spectrum: I enjoy other people's audio and video links (as long as they are easy to access, and they have been) but my own preference is the written word.

I especially enjoyed "30 days of Wompo's favorite poems" and looked forward to the variety of poems presented, and insights of the commentators. With much appreciation for the dedication and creativity of organizers and participants.

Hi Karin, if you made it this far then you've arrived at the Fest and all you need to do is look around, read and enjoy To be able to contribute your book in the bookstore, a poem to oasis, a paper, favourite poem etc - you're too late for that for Fest 2008 but watch the wompo list in the early months of next year and you'll see the calls for content for Fest 2009. moi
