5. Beltway Poetry Quarterly has a new co-editor—there are three of us now!—and a new intern. We are vastly relieved and excited to welcome them both.
Margaret Corum is co-editor of Beltway Poetry Quarterly. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015, and completed course work in psychology, gender and sexuality, and literature. She has worked as a barista, editor, arts writer, production assistant on a documentary film, and in creative media production. Recently, she completed a residency with Hampton Consulting & Film. In addition to poetry, she is interested in digital publishing, media production, film, social media, and her four tomato plants. She lives in Alexandria, VA.
Our current intern is Samantha Liming. Samantha graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2017 with a double major in English and French. She worked to publish the school’s literary magazine, Avatar, as well as working with the Voices Reading Series and the Chesapeake Writer’s Conference. She is the 2017 recipient of the Gail West Parmentier Arts Alliance Award for Creative Writing.
Margaret Corum has interviewed founding editor Kim Roberts. “In conversation, Kimm refuses to answer some questions, discusses the importance of curating a magazine based on geography and community, argues that not making money in poetry can actually be good, and makes a critical announcement for the future of Beltway Poetry Quarterly."
