2. j/j hastain's new collection of poetic essays, Luci: a Forbidden Soteriology has just been published by Black Radish Books.
Luci is a lyrical free-write through the figure of Lucifer as they are queering themselves, a radical personification, demon-become-queer-femme against the bitter edicts of orthodoxy.
Joyelle McSweeney writes, "hastain dresses and undresses Luci's body in a garment of prose as fluid and fulgurating as Luci herself. This is a smoking, lucid book, a vermilion and quicksilver book."
Black Radish Books are available through SPD.
