Way Out

For example I could live on another planet
but nursing would suffer
& the milking blister on your top lip
would deflate

harder to begin again with a fresh perspective

Close up to you
I can’t find a way out of your gaze
brown universe where all colour visiting
decides to stay becoming
some of your spectral
vision

That for now sums me up my usual
in-your-face attitude on your way back from sleep
be assured I’m there again
milking you awake
& gazing

no way out of me
though you may wish it someday
